Dr. Harvey, a fifth generation Kinstonian, was honored to have the opportunity to move back to his hometown to serve the community where he was raised. Mackenzie Brown, DDS was born and raised in Roanoke, Virginia. She moved to North Carolina to attend NC State University, where she was awarded a full athletic scholarship to compete on the gymnastics team. Dr. Brown graduated with a degree in Biological Sciences as Valedictorian of her class. She then chose to pursue a career in dentistry and was awarded the Carolina Panthers graduate scholarship for student-athletes. She obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry, where she graduated with honors. Dr. Brown is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Lenoir County Dental Society. Dr. Brown volunteers with Give Kids a Smile and has helped the local boy scouts earn their dental badge. She enjoys all aspects of family and cosmetic dentistry and also has a special passion for treating children. She strives to create a comfortable environment for her patients and provide them with the highest quality of care. Dr. Brown is married to Dr. Matt Brown, who practices as an orthodontist at Brown Orthodontics in Kinston. Outside of practicing dentistry, she and her husband enjoy spending time with their friends and family, going to the beach, exploring the outdoors and taking care of their goldendoodle, Cruiser!
In the early 70's Dr. Stark was on the faculty at UNC dental school in Chapel Hill, where he taught oral medicine and diagnosis. Later, he moved on to practice for forty years in his own practice in Pink Hill. He joined Harvey & Associates in 2012 and his primary focus is oral sleep medicine. Dr. Stark focuses on treatments for sleep disorders, snoring, apnea and CPAP intolerance. He has been married to his wonderful wife of 40 years, Rebekah, they have two great sons, Nick and Alex. Dr. Stark enjoys golf, fishing, boating and sports in general. He has a passion for restoring old cars when he finds time!
